Sullivan Man Arrested For Assault, Kidnapping

Charges have been filed in Crawford County against a Sullivan man who allegedly assaulted a pregnant woman and forced her to drive to a conservation area.

Travis Forshee, 35, has been charged with third-degree domestic assault and misdemeanor kidnapping.

The probable cause statement alleges that the victim — approximately six to eight weeks pregnant — was kicked several times in the stomach by Forshee.

Forshee allegedly tried to grab the victim by the wrist to pull her out of her vehicle, but then forced his way in. The victim told police that Forshee forced her to drive to a conservation area in Franklin County.

The victim said the last thing she remembered was lying on the floorboard with her feet on the dash. Forshee allegedly kicked her in the stomach, but she didn’t know where she was.

Forshee has been charged with multiple assaults, including third-degree in St. Francois County in March 2001; domestic assault in St. Francois County in January 2002, third-degree assault in St. Francois County in March 2002; assault in Desloge in June 2013 and assaulting law enforcement in St. Francois County in August 2013.

Forshee also has been taken into protective custody for a 12-hour detox six times since September 15, 2019.
