Sullivan Man Arrested After Altercations With Landlord, Deputy
A Sullivan man was arrested Thursday night after an altercation with a landlord and fleeing authorities.
Jason James, 39, is charged with assault, resisting arrest and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. James' bond was set at $10,000.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to the 8700 block of Little Indian Creek Road in Sullivan for a report an altercation between a landlord and a tenant. The landlord alleges James struck him in the chin with a flashlight.
Deputies located te vehicle in the area of Highway 47 and Highway 30 later on. A traffic stop was made on Pond Ford Road. A deputy questioned James and another subject and when he returned to his patrol vehicle, James allegedly fled into the woods. A chase ensued and the deputy encountered James three different times, each one involving an altercation.
