Sullivan Fire District Taxpayers Assist Neighboring District With Retired Pumper
The Sullivan Fire Protection District taxpayers, through actions of the Sullivan Fire Protection District Board of Directors, were able to assist a neighboring fire protection district this week with the donation of a former Sullivan Fire District 1991 GMC pumper truck.
According to Sullivan Assistant Chief Kyle Robertson, the Richwoods Fire Protection District took possession of the 1991 GMC pumper truck after the truck became surplus equipment in the Sullivan Fire District. The district received a new pumper in May.
The Sullivan Fire Protection District Board of Directors voted unanimously in their October meeting to sell the surplus truck to neighboring Richwoods for a symbolic one dollar price.
