Sullivan’s ‘Celebrate America 2020 Independence Day’ Fireworks Set For Thursday
The City of Sullivan will host its annual ‘Celebrate America’ 2020 Independence Day Fireworks display on Thursday, July 2.
The display is set for around 9:20 p.m.
This year’s fireworks display is sponsored by City of Sullivan and Sullivan Bank.
Each year, the City of Sullivan contributes $5,000 to the $10,000 display that is launched every Independence Day. The remaining funds are covered by local businesses that are listed above as sponsors. This year a portion of the annual display some $2,500 is part of a refund due to some of 2019 unsatisfying performance.
It is against city ordinance for fireworks to be discharged by residents and patrons on the fairgrounds.
This type of activity not only endangers the public and property at the fairgrounds, but with the large amount of displays located for the Independence Day celebration, it could provide for a very dangerous situation.
Sullivan Police will also be on the grounds working to prevent fireworks from being discharged by visitors on the fairgrounds.
