Starbucks Opens, But Local Shops Remain Positive
Starbucks had their grand opening on July 10. Citizens have had mixed feelings on social media, but the city’s two locally owned coffee shops haven’t seen effects from it quite yet.
Our Story Coffee House has been around for about a year, and Clark Street Cafe and Bakery has been around for over three years. When the news that Starbucks would be coming to the area, fans of both establishments took to social media to express their concerns.
“I think people need to look at it as a positive thing,” said Alana Ryan, manager of Clark Street Cafe and Bakery. “Any business is good business.”
