St. Clair Teen Arrested After Pursuit In Stolen Vehicle

A St. Clair teen was arrested Tuesday during a stolen vehicle investigation where he allegedly fled deputies and crashed in the Anaconda area.

Blake G. Schuster, 19, is charged with two counts of stealing a motor vehicle and felony resisting arrest. Schuster’s bond is set at $30,000.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department is searching or a second subject in the investigation.

According to Sheriff Steve Pelton, deputies recovered a 2000 Ford Mustang abandoned on Lollar Branch Road in Stanton. The vehicle had been stolen from St. Clair. A witness was located and information obtained on a possible location for a second stolen vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado.

Deputies responded to the area and observed the Silverado traveling in an opposite direction on Highway WW in St. Clair.

Pelton said deputies attempted to stop the truck, but the driver refused and a pursuit was initiated. The truck crashed five miles away and the suspects fled into a wooded area.

Around 8:45 p.m., Schuster was taken into custody.
