Santa Parade Coming Next Tuesday And Wednesday

The Sullivan Fire Protection District will not hold their Santa Sleigh in its traditional format this year, but instead will do a two-night parade in city neighborhoods.

According to Trevor Woods, Sullivan Fire Department Event Coordinator, in years past the department would spend multiple nights bringing the Santa Sleigh through all the neighborhoods.

This year that will not be possible.

“This year we will have a Santa Sleigh parade where we are honored to bring Santa to the south side of the city on Tuesday night, December 8, and north side of Sullivan on Wednesday, December 9,” said Woods. “This year we will not be stopping with Santa Claus due to concerns over COVID-19 for Santa and our firefighters.”

Woods stated that they would provide a map of the Santa Parade to the Sullivan Independent News later this week so that it can be published on our website, mysullivannews.com and on Sullivan Independent News Facebook page.

Woods stated that they know this will be a big change for area children this year but hopefully next year the Santa Sleigh can return to its normal activity.
