Robertsville Man Dies in Head-On Collision

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a Robertsville man died in a head-on crash July 7 on Tiny Ridge Way in Franklin County.
Charles Gudermuth, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:40 a.m.
According to the highway patrol, Gudermuth was traveling on a 2006 Honda CBR motorcycle. The patrol said he was going too fast for the hilly terrain.
Ashley Downey, 28, St. Clair, was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado. She was reportedly distracted and reached down to pick up her phone and crossed the center line.
Gudermuth traveled into the front left of Downey’s truck and was ejected.
He was wearing a safety device.
Downey had no injuries and was not wearing a safety device.
