Ridge Road To Close Tuesday Until November

The Ridge Road bridge, which crosses Winsel Creek, in Franklin County, just outside of Sullivan, will be closed on Tuesday, July 6, for full replacement including approaches that are expected to be completed by mid November.

Franklin County Highway Department and Missouri Department of Transportation joint project was awarded to Joe’s Bridge and Grading, Inc., for just over $650,000.

According to Jim Grutsch, Franklin County Highway Administrator, the bridge has been scheduled for replacement for some three and a half years due to being recognized as a failing bridge due to its condition and age.

“The new two lane bridge will have new approaches on both side of the bridge and the project is expected to be completed by mid-November,” said Grutsch. “We hope to expedite this project and possibly have it open sooner but with weather there can be delays.”

Residents in the area will have to avoid the construction site and use detours around the project for the next five months.

At press time Ridge Road was scheduled to be closed on July 6.
