Police Issue Correction In Arrest Report

Sullivan Police informed the Sullivan Independent News on Friday that they had a correction to an arrest report made on Friday, Jan. 5.

According to Sullivan Police Lt. Patrick Johnson, the arrest made and printed in the Sullivan Independent News Jan. 10 edition reported that Zachary Schroyer, 24, Cuba, was arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, displaying plates of another vehicle, failure to register a motor vehicle, no proof of insurance and driving while revoked.

“We have since learned through this arrest that the suspect involved in this case was actually the twin brother of Zachary Schroyer, Jacob Schroyer,” said Lt. Patrick Johnson. “There are state systems in place that should have caught this arrest and did not. We are currently looking into why the system didn’t catch it.”

According to Johnson, Sullivan Police are seeking these charges and additional charges that could include forgery against Jacob Schroyer. Sullivan Police and Sullivan Independent News wish to correct this report with the new information that has come to light.
