One Arrested, Another Detained For Throwing Bricks Off Roof

Two Sullivan teens were detained with one arrested after allegedly throwing bricks off a roof in downtown Sullivan.

According to Sullivan Police Lt. Patrick Johnson, officers responded to the 100 block of West Main Street around 2:07 a.m. on Saturday.

Officers located a number of broken bricks along Main Street and apprehended two of the three suspects believed to be involved.

Sullivan Police contacted Sullivan Fire to assist in clearing the street from the debris left by the two individuals alleged to have thrown the bricks.

“We did make an arrest of an 18-year-old male and detained a juvenile male involved in the incident,” said Lt. Johnson. “A third suspect fled the scene but was not apprehended.”

Sullivan Police have received calls of this type of activity in the downtown area over the last couple of years.

The arrest was made due to an alert resident who notified law enforcement of the activity.

The juvenile will be turned over to juvenile authorities for investigation.
