Oak Grove, Sullivan Will Seek Funding For Joint East Overpass Lighting Project

The City of Sullivan and Village of Oak Grove are combining efforts to seek funding for one major project at the 226 east overpass intersection.
According to Sullivan Engineer Robert Schaffer and Sullivan City Administrator J.T. Hardy, the city is seeking a 50/50 cost share agreement for the signalization of the east overpass near Flying J.
The application deadline is Aug. 3 with potential award after the committee’s Sept. 27 meeting. The total cost for the project is estimated to be $912,726.41 with $456,363.21 coming from the shared transportation fund with Oak Grove as these improvements will benefit both communities.
