Missing Steelville Man Found Dead; Persons Of Interest Arrested

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office announced that Terry Barton, who had been missing since June 8, was found dead on Wednesday.

Two persons of interest in the case — Beau Dyer and Eric Ray — have been arrested.

They are being held at the Crawford County Jail pending the application of warrants.

Sheriff Darin Layman said the department had received and acted upon several leads.

Barton’s disappearance was considered suspicious.

Dyer and Ray were located at a residence within the city limits of Steelville on Wednesday.

Layman said more information will follow when charges are issued.

He also thanked the Steelville Police Department and Crawford County Coroner’s Office for their assistance.
