Marley’s Ghost Performance Set For Thursday And Friday

The Sullivan Performing Arts Theatre will host the performance of “Marley’s Ghost” on Thursday and Friday with showtimes at 7 p.m. nightly.

Sullivan High School Theatre Instructor/Director/Public Speaking Instructor/International Thespians Society Sponsor Kimberly Wibbenmeyer will direct the SHS Performance of Marley’s Ghost.

According to Wibbbenmeyer, Marley’s Ghost, by Jeff Goode, is a new re-telling of “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens.

“Marley’s Ghost” is an old classic from a new perspective.

“Just as the classic starts, so do we begin the tale at the death of Ebenezer Scrooge’s business partner, Jacob Marley,” said Wibbenmeyer. “We are then whisked through Marley’s memories and flashbacks to discover who this sad soul has become the wretched man he is. Jacob Marley is put before the Celestial Court of Imposition where he is found guilty of crimes against man. In one last effort, Marley begs his judge and jury for one last chance at redemption…saving the soul of his former business partner, Ebenezer Scrooge.”

Wibbenmeyer also stated, “the show is fun and light-hearted, while also moving us as humans to reconsider the things we have while those around us do not. ‘Marley’s Ghost’ is a family-friendly, holiday show for all.

Wibbenmeyer will serve as director of the performance and is assisted by Jacob Vanover and theatre manager Steven Becker.

The cast includes Evan Podner as Jacob Marley; Ryan Happel as Young Marley/Wilkins/Reverend, Jackson Hamblin as Young Scrooge/Scrooge’ Maci Hamblin as Phantom; Chase Paquin as Giant Ghost/Gravedigger/Bob Cratchit; Miley McKinley as Diminutive Ghost; Logan Podner as Tiny Tim; Jazmyn Medling as Gravedigger’s wife/Mrs. Cratchit; Katie Gelski as Margaret/Jenny; Olivia Podner as Tuttle/Pawnbroker; Scarlett Hulsey as Belle/Crachit’s daughter; Ava Barton as Housekeeper/Cratchit’s daughter; Kaedon Woodruff as Businessman/Cratchitt Song; Landon Reagan as Beggar/Cratchit’s Son and Samantha Reiner as Laundress.
