Man Shoots Himself At Sullivan Police Department

Update: Sullivan Police said the man died from his injuries overnight.

He has been identified as Jeff Hamblin, 44.

The Sullivan Police Department said Wednesday night that a 44-year-old Sullivan man shot himself in the torso in front of the station.

According to Lt. Patrick Johnson, around 6 p.m., the man drove to the parking lot on a motorcycle and after a few minutes, walked toward the front of the building with a handgun.

He reportedly fired oe shot towards the side of the building, then once in the torso.

Officers were at the station and responded within seconds. Emergency personnel provided medical attention and transported him to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
