Leslie Woman Fatally Injured Saturday in UTV Accident

A Leslie woman was fatally injured in a UTV accident Saturday, June 2, on Fox Creek Road, just east of Steusse Road, in Franklin County at 10:30 p.m.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when Casey B. Weaks, 26, Leslie, operating an eastbound Polaris Ranger UTV, traveled partially off the right side of the roadway. The driver then overcorrected and the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway where its front end struck a tree.

A passenger in the vehicle, Kaileigh D. Weaks, 29, Leslie, was pronounced fatally injured at the scene.

The operator, Casey B. Weaks, was transported by Union Ambulance to Mercy Hospital, Washington, for treatment of moderate injuries.

Weaks was later arrested by the Missouri Highway Patrol for alleged involuntary manslaughter and driving while intoxicated.
