Labadie Man Accused Of Sending Pornographic Images To Minor

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Labadie man after he allegedly sent a minor pornographic images and sexually explicit comments to her mobile phone.

Thomas W. Abbott, 32, is charged with furnishing pornography to a minor. He is being held on a $20,000 bond.

Abbott knew the victim through volunteering at the Union school district, other local organizations and social media. Abbott had been in contact with the victim since November 2017.

Franklin County Sheriff Steve Pelton said his office received the complaint after the minor’s mother located the pornography and comments on the phone.

The mother contacted authorities, who began investigating.

Pelton encourages parents and/or guardians to have dialogue with their children regarding Internet safety and social media.
