Intoxicated Man Shows Up At Wrong House, Assaults Multiple Victims
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said a Villa Ridge man drunkenly showed up at a house that he thought was his and assaulted multiple victims, including deputies.
Joseph Carter, 55, has been charged with third-degree assault and fourth-degree assault.
Carter allegedly burned one of the victims with hot food that had come off a grill.
When deputies arrived and confined an intoxicated Carter, he allegedly assaulted two of them by pushing and kicking them.
According to Sheriff Steven Pelton, the incident occurred July 3 in the 200 block of Arborview Drive.
The victim said Carter had shown up at the house believing it was his. When she tried to get him to leave, he pushed her to the ground twice.
A second victim said Carter threw food from a grill and struck him. The victim had food stains on his shirt and visible burn marks from the hot food.
Carter was arrested and transported to the hospital. He allegedly became combative and assaulted two deputies.
The deputies were uninjured.
Carter also made statements threatening to kill the deputies and the victims once he was released from custody.
