Independent News Presents Donations To Local Charities
The Sullivan Independent News presented two donations last week following two different months of subscription charity contributions.
“We kicked off a subscription program, for new subscribers, that will donate $5 from every new subscription sold, during a specific month, to a local charity,” said James B. Bartle, co-publisher. "The first month of the program we received 10 new subscribers and presented a check for $50 to the Sullivan Sports Boosters. Last month we chose the Spring Bluff School Backpack program and received 17 new subscribers and were able to present $85 to the program.”
According to Bartle, it's another way to give back to our local area that has supported local news for many years.
“We are pleased with the response thus far and pleased to make the donations we have been able to make with this program,” said Bartle. “During the month of February we will make a $5 donation for every new subscription sold to Missouri Baptist Hospital Foundation program. We look forward to working with a new charity each month and encourage people to support our efforts.”
