Granite City Woman Killed In Motorcycle Crash

A Granite City woman was killed in a motorcycle crash June 25 near Dixon after the bike overturned on Highway 28.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a 2012 Harley-Davidson driven by Ralph G. Carmack, 58, Granite City, Ill., ran off the right side of the road. The bike began to slide, returned to the roadway and overturned.
The accident occurred around 2:58 p.m. and Mary M. Carmack, 67, was pronounced dead at University Hospital in Columbia at 6:55 p.m.
Both passengers were wearing safety devices.
Ralph Carmack was transported to Phelps County Regional Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries.
Troop I has recorded three fatal accidents in June and 13 in 2017.
