Franklin County Unemployment Slightly Increases In November

Franklin County’s unemployment rose in November, the first increase since May.
The rate went from 3.7% in October to 3.8% in November and initial claims rose from 598 to 669.
Franklin County unemployment began the year at 4.2% unemployment, then fell to 3.9% in February.
During the first month of the COVID-19 pandemic, it rose to 4.7% and more than doubled in April, rising to 10.7%.
The rate rose again in May, going to 10.9%.
It began dropping from there, going to 8.4% in June, 7.3% in July, 6.8% in August and 3.9% in September.
