In First For County, Monthly Sales Tax Collection Goes Over $200,000
Crawford County’s general revenue sales tax collection reached new heights during the month of February, posting $211,583.
It is the first time the county has collected more than $200,000 in a single month for general revenue. Collection history provided by Treasurer Karen Sikes dates back to 2008.
February’s totals reflect a continued upward trend since the tax rate went up in October 2018. In February 2018, the county collected $111,212.99.
The county’s collection for 2019 begins in December since the money is sent in January. Through the first three months, the county has collected $537,418.22.
