Firefighters Save Home In Fire Friday

Sullivan firefighters’ quick response helped save a home at 4 East Euclid on Friday, January 24, after a neighbor reported to emergency services that the home was on fire.

Firefighters responded at 8:04 a.m. and arrived at 8:09 a.m. where Missouri Baptist Ambulance personnel advised prior to their arrival that there was heavy smoke and flames in the attic with no one inside the home.

Firefighters entered the home and quickly located the areas of fire and began working to extinguish the blaze but had to remove large portions of the ceiling in order to access the fire.

Sullivan Fire was also assisted by St. Clair firefighters, who helped extinguish the fire and save the home.

According to investigators, the homeowner Shawn Daysinger, reported to firefighters that there was electrical issues going on in the house during the night and he had planned to contact and electrician Friday.

Firefighters used 2,500 gallons of water to extinguish the fire in the 1,000 sq. ft. home.
