FCSO: Man Threatened Victim’s Life, Held Him Against Will
A Pacific man was arrested Monday after he allegedly held his roommate against his will and threatened his life.
Michael S. McPherson, 36, is charged with second-degree kidnapping, unlawful use of a weapon and fourth-degree assault.
McPherson allegedly threatened to kill the victim while armed with a knife and tree saw.
Franklin County sheriff’s deputies received a report of a person being held against their will in the 3700 block of Sunset Drive outside Pacific. The victim reported McPherson was holding him against his will and he had escaped prior to calling 911.
Deputies arrived at the location and established a perimeter around the home.
The victim told deputies he had been crouched on the floor of for several hours “for fear he would be killed.” Eventually, McPherson let the victim go. The man escaped after McPherson walked to the basement.
McPherson was taken into custody after he exited the residence. He had warrants for non-support, property damage, resisting arrest and traffic charges.
Bond has been set at $30,000.
