The Exchange Under New Ownership, Now The Clothing Exchange
Jodi Elliot, co-owner of Sweet Repeats, 12 West Main St., has expanded once again by purchasing The Exchange, 28 West Main; and changing the name to The Clothing Exchange.
Ellio previously sold the business to Michelle Yoest but then purchased it back on September 1.
"I think Sullivan is a great place to live and work," said Elliot. "There is a great downtown here, and I want to see it continue, remain vital to the community. We have beautiful buildings and businesses downtown that complement each other well."
Along with her sister Kim Henson, Elliot is working to build up the business's consignment inventory. They specialize in clothing for all but also included: jewelry, high-end purses, makeup, and personal body care items, special occasion dresses-prom-homecoming along with shoes.
"Business has been very good so far, and people are coming in," said Elliot. "We really hated to see the I-Shop close in Sullivan as they were one of the businesses that also help bring people into Sullivan and down to our store. It made people make an afternoon of shopping here with us both. We've had a great response to what we are doing, along with the changes we have made inside the store."
Elliot and Henson stated that they accept 30 items a week from individuals wanting to place their consignment items with them but ask that these items be brought inside the business in a single white trash bag.
The store covers 7,000 square feet, which is perfect for Elliot and similar to when she owned Encore.
"I got back into all this because I love to work and love owning and operating a business," said Elliot.
Elliot and Henson bring some 45 years of combined experience to the business and look forward to customers coming in to see the changes they've made and bring their consignment items.
