Elderly Woman Assaulted By Daughter

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said an 89-year-old Lonedell woman was allegedly assaulted by her daughter.

Myra Clayton, 62, has been arrested and charged in the incident. She faces third-degree assault and third-degree elder abuse charges.

According to Sheriff Steven Pelton, deputies were dispatched to the 900 block of Redbud Drive. Clayton was allegedly intoxicated and began throwing household objects at the victim, striking her several times.

Clayton’s bond was set at $20,000.
