Crawford County Woman Charged With First-Degree Murder

Beau Dyer, 20, is being held without bond. Eric Ray, 50, has been charged with tampering with evidence

A Steelville woman was charged with first-degree murder on Thursday in the death of a man reported missing June 8.

Beau Dyer, 20, faces first-degree murder, armed criminal action and tampering with evidence charges.

Dyer is being held without bond at the Crawford County Jail, according to electronic court records. She will appear before Judge Patrick Horsefield on Friday at 9 a.m.

Dyer is charged in connection with the death of Albert Barton, 20. Barton was last seen June 6 and reported missing June 8. His body was found June 30.

The Crawford County Sheriff's Office said that Dyer and Eric Ray, 50, were persons of interest in the case.

Both were arrested June 30.

Ray has been charged with tampering with evidence. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.
