Franklin County Reports 19th Death Related To COVID-19

Franklin County on Aug. 15 said a 19th person has died from COVID-19.

The person was identified as a 77-year-old Washington man.

It is the first death related to the virus since early June.

Franklin County’s COVID-19 total surpassed 700 last week as 118 cases were reported.

On Aug. 10, the county had 629 cases. On Monday, they were up to 747.

Of those, 179 are active. All but three are outside long-term care facilities.

There have been 549 recoveries.

Franklin County has seen its overall positivity rate climb and as of Monday, it stood at 3.98 percent. On Aug. 10, it was 3.51 percent.

The five-day average of new cases has risen to 20.2. On Aug. 10, it was 15.6.

Hospitalizations have increased to 10.

The Franklin County Health Department recommends mask usage when unable to stay six feet away from people who do not live in your immediate household.

State

As of Sunday, Aug. 16, Missouri had 67,475 cases, 1,367 deaths attributed to the virus and a seven-day positivity rate of 11.4 percent.

Hospitalizations stood at 889.

Death data is as of Aug. 13.

The percentage of all patients who have tested positive has increased in recent weeks and as of Sunday, stood at 8 percent.

There have been 845,618 individuals who have been PCR-tested.
