County Reports 2 Confirmed, 2 Probable COVID-19 Deaths

Franklin County reported Friday that four people have died due in part to COVID-19.

The deaths occurred between October 2020 and April 2021.

Two people have been confirmed and two more are probable.

The residents are identified as a 92-year-old St. Clair woman, a 65-year-old Pacific woman, a 72-year-old Sullivan man and a 76-year-old Pacific man.

To date, Franklin County has lost 177 people to confirmed COVID-19 deaths and 30 more have probable deaths.

The county released its weekly report on Friday and said that 20 new cases were detected.

No active cases exist in long-term care facilities and nobody is hospitalized.

Franklin County has confirmed 9,551 total cases and 2,263 probable cases.

Vaccine

Franklin County has one of the highest percentage of its residents initiating the COVID-19 vaccine.

As of Saturday, 40.3% have initiated the vaccine, which is fifth highest in the state.

Close to 35% have completed the vaccine regimen.

Missouri has seen 43.5% of its 18 and older population initiate the vaccine and 37.2% complete it.

An average of 11,624 doses per day were administered for the week ending May 27.
