Collin Raye, Neal McCoy Headline 31st Annual Meramec Community Fair

The 31st annual Meramec Community Fair, “Ride Into The Eclipse on Route 66,” will be held this week beginning with the parade and Contemporary Christian Night kicking off two days of free entertainment.

Wednesday offers another free night of entertainment on the fairgrounds with 4-H Archery competition at 5 p.m., Youth Horse Show at 6:30 p.m., Gospel Night on the Fidelity/Mercy Main Stage with McKameys, Final Authority and M.C. Duane Garner hosting the event and Market Steer Weigh in will be at 8 p.m. in the livestock area.

Thursday kicks off with the Swine, Market Hog, Market Lamb, Market Goat Weigh-In at 8 a.m. followed by the Poultry, Rabbit, Alpaca shows at noon.

The main gates will open kicking off rides and entertainment at 4 p.m. with the Junior Miss Pageant for ages 14-16 on the Fidelity/Mercy Main Stage at 6 p.m. followed by the Queen Speech/Talent and Evening Gown/Coronation Ceremony beginning at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. respectively.

Truck and Tractor Pulls will energize the fairgrounds at 7 p.m. which is always a fan favorite night.

Friday events will begin at 8 a.m. with the Swine Show followed by Market Lamb Show at 11, Sheep Show at 12:30, Beef Show at 2 p.m. and Bucket calf at 4 p.m.

The Main Gates will open again on Friday at 4 p.m. with Market Steer and Heifer Show at 6 p.m., Bull Bash by 7P Rafter Rodeo Productions that will include trick horse riding and a Circle of Fear.

The Mercy/Fidelity Main Stage will once again kick off the weekend of entertainment with local favorite Alderwood opening the show for Country Superstar Collin Raye.

Raye will crank out many of his 16 number one country hits that has come off his ten albums. He has been nominated five times for the Country Music Awards, CMA and five times for Academy of Country Music Awards, ACM, for male vocalist of the year.

The hits from Raye include a spectacular list of great country music; “Love Me,” “In This Life,” “Not That Different,” If I Were You,” “My Kind of Girl,” That’s My Story,” “I Can Still Feel You,” “Little Rock,” and “I Want You Bad.”

Saturday will kick off the final day of the fair with the children’s pageant rehearsal at 9 a.m. followed by Ronald McDonald Magic Show at 10 a.m., children’s pageant at 11 a.m., antique tractor pull at 11 a.m., carnival rides at 11 a.m., kiddie tractor pull at 12 p.m., livestock buyers luncheon at 12 p.m., livestock auction at 1 p.m., demolition derby, 5 p.m., Mercy/Fidelity Main Stage will feature Sullivan’s own Steven Woolley on stage at 8 p.m. followed by country music legend Neal McCoy at 9 p.m.

McCoy has sold more than 6 million records, released 15 albums, 25 chart singles, his debut gold album, “Neal McCoy,” five number one singles; “No Doubt About It,” “You Gotta Love That,” “They’re Playing Our Song,” “For A Change,” “Wink,” and five top ten hits that include: “”Billy’s Got His Beer Goggles On,” “The Shake,” “The City Put The Country Back In Me,” “Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye,” and “If I Was A Drinking Man.”

McCoy has received numerous honors from the including 15 times USO Tours Around The World, two time, Entertainer of the Year, 2005 ACM Home Depot Humanitarian of the Year and 2006 Country Music Radio Broadcasters Humanitarian of the Year.

Tickets for the Meramec Community Fair will remain on sale through Thursday for $35 including at the gate with daily admission prices of, $20, Thursday, $25, Friday and $30 Saturday.
