City To Seek Grant For Northside Park Trail

The Sullivan City Council was scheduled to meet on Tuesday, Feb. 6, with three matters on the Sullivan City Administrator’s report that include Phase Three of Northside Park Trail, bids for a compact loader, utility tractor and bush hog and one proposed bill for approval as an ordinance in the City of Sullivan.

Sullivan City Administrator J.T. Hardy was scheduled to seek council approval to submit a grant for federal funding to construct Phase Three of the new Northside Park Trail. The project would cost an estimated $300,000 to complete, with the city applying for a 50/50 federal cost share on the project.

According to Hardy, phase three of the project would connect Cripple Creek Estates to the Peach Tree/George, Mervin and Karen Ann neighborhoods.

The trail would run from the park, located in Cripple Creek to North Church, the former Highway AF.

Hardy is seeking council approval to submit an application for federal funding assistance.
