Charge Filed Against Armed Man Who Fled Police

The Crawford County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office filed a charge this week against an imprisoned Steelville man who fled from Sullivan Police armed with a pistol and various other weapons.
Matthew P. Chandler, 41, faces one count of unlawful possession of a firearm, stemming from an incident in September 2017.
Chandler allegedly told police he intended to draw the gun so that they would shoot him.
