Chamber Looks For New Director Following Resignation Notice

Cindy Milstead resigning as executive director

The Sullivan Chamber of Commerce is searching for a new executive director following the recent announcement that Director Cindy Milstead will be resigning due to a relocation from the Sullivan area to St. Robert.

In a Sullivan Chamber of Commerce Facebook page post Milstead wrote Tuesday, August 29:

“It is with mixed emotions that I will be resigning from my position as Executive Director at the Sullivan Area Chamber of Commerce. It has been my pleasure to work the past 4 years in the Chamber office, 2 years as the Administrative Assistant and 2 years as the Executive Director. Thanks to the Chamber Board for being so wonderful to work with, supporting me in my position as Director and in my decision to step down. As I begin a new chapter in my life, I go forward having gained many, many strong friendships in the Sullivan area. Those that know me best know that I often tell people to "Keep their Joy" while tossing an Almond Joy their way!”

The Sullivan Chamber of Commerce has begun advertising for the position and accepting resumes for the hiring process, with the new director spot to be filled in the coming weeks.

Applications for the position are available online at sullivanmochamber.com and a description of the qualifications can be found in this weeks Sullivan Independent News classifieds.

In speaking with Milstead Thursday, Sept. 7, prior to the Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon, she stated that she is going to miss the community and so many people that she has worked with over the years.

Milstead added that her resignation will not have her leaving until her replacement has been found and assumes her duties.
