Building Bid, Monthly Bills, Ordinances Before Council Tuesday

The Sullivan City Council was scheduled to meet Tuesday, January 15, at 7 p.m. with one bid project, payment of the monthly bills and two ordinances before them.

There were no requests or petitions before the council Tuesday night with City Administrator J.T. Hardy presenting one matter before the council in his report.

Hardy was scheduled to present the bids for a pre-engineered metal building for the Water and Sewer department to replace their current facility which has exceeded its life span and use.

Five bids for the budgeted project were received that included: Total Building Solutions, LLC., Bourbon, $206,370; Alexander Construction LLC, Rolla, $198,551.10; R.V. Wagnerm Inc., St. Louis, $225,500; Boulder Construction LLC, Cape Girardeau, Mo., $301,216 and 220 Buildiners LLC, St. Louis, $305,776.

City staff is recommending the council award the project to Alexander Construction, Rolla, in the amount of $198,776.

Payment of the monthly bills totaling $1,552,323.34 that included $638,861.07 to MPUA Power for December wholesale electric, $46,857.55 to UMB Bank for payment 130 on wastewater treatment plant, $50,000 to Walters Golf Management for Sullivan Golf Course operations, $24,410.15 UMB Bank payment on Walker Fields Sewer Bonds, and $618.51 to UMB Bank for payment on the Sullivan Heights Sewer Bond Issue.

Two ordinances before the council Tuesday night were to include:

Ord. 3829, which would approve a three-year lease with Aerofil Technology for use of two city-owned buildings at 1190 and 1250 Airport Rd., Sullivan, for a lease of $6,250 a month.

Ord. 3830, would approve a governmental cooperative contract with Insituform to line sewers in order to help eliminate infiltration and inflow. The project cost is $122,878.80.

The council did have closed session posted for real estate, litigation and personnel.
