Bourbon Fire District Holding Open House, Dedication Saturday
The Bourbon Fire Protection District will invite the public to see its new station Saturday at an open house and dedication.
The open house ceremony will go from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. The station is located at #6 Industrial Park Drive on Highway C.
Residents can visit firefighters, police officers and EMS teams and there will be a variety of activities for children and adults. Take a tour of the new station, ARCH and Air Evac helicopters and various antique fire trucks. Kid-friendly fire safety games and activities will be available, along with a bounce house.
Light food and beverages will be available.
The new firehouse opened in September after more than 10 years of planning and 70 years at 55 Elm Street. It is a 15,000-square-foot facility containing 10,000-square-feet of bay area. There are nine bays and several new features the district didn't have in its old space on Elm Street. The building has since been vacated and available for purchase.
