Be On Alert For Scam Job Postings

The Sullivan Independent News and Sullivan Police have been alerted to a job posting scam that is believed to be soliciting women to apply for an insurance position through Indeed.com, a job posting site.

According to the individuals who have observed and attempted to apply for the position, allegedly with Allstate, the agency has not posted to this site nor are they soliciting for an insurance position.

According to this position, they are seeking women and request their resume and social security number when applying.

The other bizarre twist in this scam is that it lists a local insurance agent's name, none associated with Allstate, but from the area, who also has no knowledge of the position and is not soliciting anyone.

The sources have informed the Sullivan Independent News that the women, once they apply, receive a text message with an interview time along with an address to any location in Sullivan area.

One such applicant was told to meet in the evening at a certain time which ended up being a vacant and rundown property. A second applicant was sent to a vacant building in downtown Sullivan.

People can file a report with Indeed.com regarding this type of solicitation, but also remember if it sounds suspicious, it probably is suspicious.

Police urge the public to be on guard for solicitations like this and others that continue to surface on almost a daily basis.

Those with further concerns or information on this matter may contact Sullivan Police at 573-468-6511.
