Authorities Reviewing Case Of Missing Stanton Man From 2007

The family of Jerry L. Whaley are still looking for answers as to what happened to their loved one after he went missing on Nov. 2, 2007, nearly 10 years ago.

A family member reached out to the Sullivan Independent News this week as the search for the former 45-year-old Stanton man is one of Franklin County's “cold cases.”

Franklin County Sheriff Steve Pelton reported to the Independent News on Monday that detectives are looking for new leads in the case and are actually conducting some additional investigations this week.

“We really have nothing new on this case but we are following up on some additional investigation at this time,” said Pelton Monday. “If anyone has any new information on this case we ask that they contact our Detective Division at 636-583-2560.”

The circumstances around Whaley began when he was reported missing from his residence on Nov. 2, 2007, when he did not return from work.
