Accident Injures Two Near Stanton

Traffic was backed up several miles Wednesday after an accident near Stanton left two people with serious injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash occurred at 1:31 p.m. at the 231 mile marker.

A 2001 Dodge 1500 driven by Donna Brown-King, 49, Rolla, was traveling westbound and struck the rear of a 2007 Volvo Conventional, driven by Russell Minor, 50, Mount Pleasant, Mich. 

Brown-King’s vehicle traveled across the median and into eastbound traffic. 

The front of her vehicle struck a 2003 International driven by James D. Lynn, 49, Marine, Ill. 

The highway patrol said Brown-King and Lynn were both transported via helicopter to St. Louis-area hospitals.

Both drivers were wearing safety devices and their vehicles received total damage.

Minor was uninjured and his vehicle had minor damage.
