4-11 Inches Of Snow Forecast In Crawford, Franklin Counties

The National Weather Service in St. Louis expects Crawford and Franklin counties to see between 4-11 inches of snow from winter storm “Gia.”

The winter storm warning will run through midnight Saturday.

A mix of sleet and snow is expected this afternoon, with mainly moderate to heavy snow afterwards.

A Winter Storm Warning means that heavy snowfall of 6 inches or more is expected. The rapid accumulation of snow will make travel extremely difficult, if not impossible. If travel is necessary,  make sure to exercise extreme caution. Begin your travel with a full tank of gas, and carry a winter storm kit which includes a shovel, flashlight, cellphone, food and water, and blankets of extra warm clothing.

The Missouri Department of Transportation is urging motorists not to travel unless necessary.
