Vehicle Struck From Behind, Man Has Serious Injuries

A Steelville man received serious injuries Thursday when he was struck from behind on Highway 19.
Kyle Meracle, 25, was stopped in traffic in a 1995 Buick Skylark when a 2017 Denali driven by Nancy Quick, 50, Owensville crashed into the rear. Meracle’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and into a tree.
Meracle was transported to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital. He was not wearing a seat belt.
Quick did not have injuries and drove her vehicle from the scene. She was wearing a seat belt.
The Skylark received total damage.
