Resignation Opens Spot On School Board

Ron Collins submitted his letter of resignation on the Crawford County R-1 School Board in June, which opened up a spot through April 2020.

Collins will be moving out of the district.

He was voted to the board in April 2018 after receiving one more vote than longtime incumbent Darrel Bosse.

Applications will be taken until July 10.

The seat will be contested for a one-year term next April, then be up for the full three-year term in April 2021.

This is the second straight year a vacancy has opened up on the board. Former board president Scott Blue resigned in April 2018 as he too was moving out of the district.

School board members chose to reappoint Bosse to the board following his narrow defeat in that election.

A one-year seat was contested between Bosse and Sean Kaysinger last April, which was won by Kaysinger.

The seat will be up for a full three-year term in April 2020.
