Former Jail Employee Faces Sexual Conduct Charge
A former employee of the Crawford County Jail was fired May 7 following an internal investigation about allegedly inappropriate interactions with recently released inmates.
Brian K. Naber, 46, Salem, is charged with sexual conduct with a prisoner by an employee of a jail. Naber is being held on a $25,000 bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court Friday, May 11 for a bond reduction hearing.
According to Crawford County Sheriff Darin Layman, his office received information on April 27 about one of the probationary detention employees engaging in “potentially inappropriate interactions” with inmates who had been released.
The Criminal Investigations Division began investigation along with policy violations.
Naber was terminated and a warrant was issued for his arrest May 8.
