District Still Hoping To Add Family-School Liaison
The Bourbon School Board approved a job description for a family-school liaison on July 20, a position the district hopes will address a high number of high school students not living with a parent, homelessness and socioeconomic deprivation.
Superintendent Patricia Thompson said there has been no update on the position, but with the job description in place, can use it in discussions with other stakeholders.
In June, Thompson outlined to the Independent News she envisions the liaison acting as a conduit between home and school, helping student’s with their needs beyond academics and providing resources for their families.
