Commissioner Vents Over 2017 FEMA Process

District 2 Commissioner Jared Boast expressed frustration Tuesday with how the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) processed reimbursements during major flooding last spring.

Boast relayed his concerns to Bennie Cook, a field representative for U.S. Representative Jason Smith.

“It was a dynamic process,” Boast said to Cook. “We start documentation…present to the (Emergency Management Director) and it’s entered to ‘the portal.’ Weeks later, it’s not the right documentation.”
