Commission Tables New Coroner Facility
While the Crawford County Commission has been pushed to explore options for building a new coroner facility, members aren’t rushing to have it done.
“It has been — a nice word is — tabled,” said Presiding Commissioner Leo Sanders on November 5. “If something comes our way, fine. If it doesn’t, I think we’ll wait and see who comes out for coroner.”
Paul Hutson is not expected to run for another term as coroner next year and he has used his own facilities and equipment.
Responding to negative feedback from residents and the potential costs of constructing the facility, the commission will wait out 2020 and plan accordingly with Hutson's successor.
