Commission Hears From Property Owner Violating Septic System Ordinance

Crawford County commissioners heard Tuesday from Tammy Irvin, a property owner who was in violation of the septic system ordinance and racked up an administrative penalty of more than $14,000.

Irvin was told to disconnect a septic system from an in-use system in late 2016. On Jan. 12, 2017, the Crawford County Health Department issued a notice of violation. After 30 days of non-compliance, a $50 per day penalty began incurring until it was capped off.
