City Reinstates Satterfield

Bourbon City Council members voted on August 26 to reinstate Police Chief Paul Satterfield following a two-week paid administrative leave.

Satterfield resumed duties on Tuesday.

According to minutes, Ward 2 Alderman Carl Hammack motioned to retain and place Satterfield back on active duty.

Ward 1 Alderman Dave Lafferty seconded.

Ward 2 Alderwoman Mary Heywood also voted for the measure. The city is still without a second alderman in Ward 1.

The police chief and police officers will attend appropriate training as directed and approved by the board.

The chief and all officers must sign the policy and procedures manual.

Satterfield’s leave began on August 12 after a 3-0 vote by the board.
