New Jersey Man Injured After Falling Asleep Behind Wheel

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a New Jersey man fell asleep behind the wheel and had injuries after striking the cable median barrier.
Adam M. Sarkisian, 21, Paramus, New Jersey, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 44 at the 218 mile marker. Around 3:55 a.m., he reportedly fell asleep, lost control of his 2004 Dodge Neon and traveled off the left side of the roadway.
Sarkisian was not wearing a seat belt. He was taken to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital for treatment.
The vehicle received extensive damage.
