Fall Festival, BBQ With Bourbon This Weekend
The annual Bourbon Boosters Fall Festival and third annual BBQ With Bourbon will be held Friday and Saturday.
The Fall Festival is scheduled for Friday and the Bourbon Economic Development Group is hosting its BBQ With Bourbon pork steak competition on Saturday, along with a car show.
More than 100 automobiles are expected to participate.
A breakfast benefitting Bourbon High School’s Project Graduation will be held on Saturday morning at the community center.
The parade kicks off festivities on Friday at 6 p.m. with the theme of “Paving the Way Forward.”
The Bourbon Booster Club chose it as a tie-in with the rebuild of Pine Street.
Lineup for the parade starts at 5 p.m. at the middle school.
A new Junior Miss Bourbon will be crowned at 8 p.m. on Friday.
A silent auction will be held at the community center and the Boosters are still accepting items.
The silent auction is the Booster Club’s largest fundraiser of the year and help sponsor projects throughout the community.
Items may be left at Town & Country Bank or at Bremer Hardware.
Friday’s festivities include food, games, prizes, a petting zoo, live music and fried fish sandwiches.
BBQ With Bourbon
Saturday’s events include the pork steak competition and car show.
Bourbon whiskey must be used in the preparation of pork steaks.
Carryout plates and sandwiches will be available.
Jeff Redhage is emceeing the car show and it has expanded to 20 classes.
The car show and barbecue contestants registration is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.
Music from Tim and the Route 66 band begins at 12:30 p.m. on the stage at Festival Park.
Judging for the car show will be held at 2:30 p.m. and trophies and awards will be presented.
At 3:30 p.m., judging will take place for the barbecue competition and winners announced after.
