COVID-19 Cases Still Falling In Crawford County

COVID-19 cases are still plummeting in Crawford County.

From Feb. 12-18, just eight cases were reported.

No cases were reported from Feb. 13-14 and again on Feb. 16.

The seven-day positivity rate also has taken a sharp downward turn, falling to 4.3%.

Just two months ago, Crawford County had one of the highest positivity rates in the state.

As of Feb. 18, its seven-day rate ranks 86th highest.

Three counties are still reporting positivity rates over 30% — Mississippi (37.5%), Scott (30.6%) and Pemiscot (30%).

Crawford County ranks 42nd in the state in testing over the latest seven-day period.

There have been a total of 2,039 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 29 deaths.

State

Missouri reported 3,147 cases from Feb. 12-18, a daily average of 450.

The daily totals are the lowest the state has seen since June.

Missouri has had 474,997 total cases.

Twenty-three deaths were reported in the last seven days, bringing the total to 7,715.

The state’s positivity rate has fallen to 6.7%.

Hospitalizations

Hospitalizations dropped to 1,234 as of Feb. 18.

COVID-19 patients in ICUs dropped to 257.

In the St. Louis region, hospitalizations have dropped to 607 and there were 114 patients in the ICU.

During his Feb. 17 press conference, Gov. Mike Parson said that new daily case volume has fallen 95% since Nov. 9.

Missouri cases peaked at 7,616 that day.

“We are confident that these current trends will continue if Missourians stay committed to practicing COVID-19 preventative measures, including social distancing, wearing a mask, washing their hands, and avoiding unnecessary large gatherings,” Governor Parson continued.
